Richard Gutierrez Is A Real Life Superhero
As typhoons ravaged the country, there was one Philippine actor who showed that he was indeed a superstar in real life. Richard Gutierrez came to the rescue of his friend and fellow actress Cristine Reyes. Trapped on the roof of her 2-story house in Provident Village, Marikina City, the actress feared for her life and the lives of her loved ones.
Together with her were her mother and two young children. It was pitch dark when Richard came to the rescue. Using a speedboat he borrowed from one of his friends, the young actor navigated through the flood waters littered with damaged real estate, floating cars and other debris. In time, he was eventually able to reach Cristine’s home and bring her to safety.
This is only one of the many stories of brave heroism that celebrities and ordinary Filipinos alike showed during this time of adversity. But Richard’s heroic act showed how much of a bold star he really is. And Cristine’s plight brought the plight of all the Filipinos to the attention of the international community all around the world.
