Gerald Anderson

When Gerald Anderson entered Kuya’s house in 2006 for ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition, he caused ripples in the ocean of matinee idols. Primetime TV viewing became a notch more exciting.

Among the housemates confined in the PBB house that year, the Amboy hottie from General Santos City, stood out with his good looks and fun-loving attitude. Though he finished third in the text voting, he became one of the most popular discoveries from the show.

“He has a strong charming boyish looks,” says TV director Jerome Pobocan, who handles the young actor in the ABS-CBN soap Sana Maulit Muli.” ‘His good complexion makes him a matinee idol. Gerald has the drive—perhaps because he’s new in the business that’s people love him. He’s a bit mysterious, secretive, but has a strong drive. I think that’s his edge over the other teen stars. I think, with the right projects, the right material, he can make it happen: to become the next matinee idol.”

Indeed, with his determination to prove his worth as an actor, Gerald could very well be the next big star of his generation.
